Dragon Force
The popularity of this class of boat with the Wednesday Group, has led to a call for Sunday racing.
There has been a decline in turnouts for Laser Racing since April 2011 therefore as a trial, Dragon Force Sailing has been scheduled until December 2014 as a replacement for the Laser Class.
Racing will be on an informal basis with a result for the day. No series result/trophies for 2014.
Members will be invited to discuss the future of the class at the 2014 AGM
Wee Nip
New for 2014, we are running a series of Saturday events for the Wee Nip Class.
The Wee Nip is a home built boat sailed by a number of members on a Wednesday morning. These boats are of a Hard Chine design and can easily be built from plans. To make the building process easier, templates are available to help you cut out the Balsa wood panel. Aluminium keels with cast lead bulbs are also available.
Abington Park MYC have set up a Wee Nip website giving full details of the class with an excellent set of videos and photographs to assist builders.
Contact Mike Ewart if you require any further information about the class or perhaps visit the lake when they are sailing.
Wednesday Morning, Handicap Racing
The Wednesday morning handicap racing for the Dragon Force/RG65/Wee Nip and Micro Magic classes has grown in popularity with turnouts into double figures. These sessions will continue during 2014, starting just after 10.00 am, retiring to a local pub for lunch around 12.00. All are welcome to join.
Thursday, Evening Sailing
During Summer 2013, a small group met for an evening sail.
The first date for 2014 is Thursday 17th April, running through until the 11th September. Social sailing/racing for Dragon Force, RG65, Wee Nip, Micro Magic classes only.
